Taking a step into My Tomato Pie isn't the same as taking a step into your average Italian restaurant. You are not immediately pulled into the spaghetti-swirling, Penne à la Vodka-smelling, other elaborate-named meals that you cannot pronounce because you're not Italian, environment. Rather, when you open the door of My Tomato Pie, you are entering a restaurant that offers meals beyond the cliché Italian dishes. You can choose from salads, sandwiches, pitas, wraps, and other entrees and starters, in addition to the pizza and pasta.

For starters, the Nachos topped with a blend of Monterey jack and cheddar cheese, jalapenos, fresh tomatoes, black olives, with salsa and sour cream on the side, for only $8, is the perfect beginning to a tasty meal. The portions of the starters are large enough to share between two people and the spicy and salty deliciousness leaves customers wanting more after each stringy, cheesy pull of a chip.

If summer time is coming up and you decide that it's time for you to start your diet, the Strawberries and Goat Cheese salad is a suitable option for you. Filled with mixed greens, strawberries, goat cheese, candied walnuts, and red onions tossed in balsamic vinaigrette dressing – again for only $8 – the salad is sure to fill you up and keep you satisfied.

That salad is seasonal, so another appetizing option is Antoinette's Chopped Salad. Made up of mixed greens, Italian salami, prosciutto, egg, olives, onions, tomatoes, artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, chickpeas, and romano cheese tossed in balsamic vinaigrette dressing, this salad is heavier and more filling for the hungrier customers, for only $1 more.

Not in the mood for a salad? Satisfy your taste buds with the Portobello Melt sandwich for $8.75. Roasted Portobello mushrooms, mixed greens tossed in balsamic vinaigrette, and garlic mayonnaise with melted fontina cheese served on an Italian roll.

If it's one of those days where you feel the urge to take your tummy on a trip to Rome, try a pasta dish. Order the Cheese Ravioli for $9 and get lost in the 12-cheese ravioli topped with homemade marinara sauce.

If pasta isn't on your mind, then create your own "my tomato pie." These specialty pizzas let you choose meat, vegetables, and cheese toppings, sauces, and pizza sizes; ranging from seven inches for $4 (personal), 13 inches for $8.50 (small), to 17 inches for $12 (large), to suit your party.

The best part about My Tomato Pie is its gluten free menu. Diagnosis of celiac disease is on the rise and the menu offers both gluten-free pizza and pasta. Both taste almost identical to regular pizza and pasta, which is hard to find for many people that suffer from celiac disease.

There is a kid-friendly menu, with items like macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese and baked fries, and baked chicken fingers. For parents there is red wine, white wine, and many different beer options (including gluten free).

To put the cherry on top of the cake, the service at My Tomato Pie is great and the servers are always smiling and reaching out to customers. Brace yourself before ordering a meal to go or sitting down to eat, because once you eat at My Tomato Pie, you will continuously want to go back for more.
