The UB women's swimming team (5-4, 2-4 Mid-American Conference) started the weekend with a 179.50-120.50 loss to Eastern Michigan (4-6, 2-4 MAC) Friday night.
Stephanie Nochisaki pulled in first place with a season best time of 2:08.45, while teammate Janet Reynolds grabbed second place with a time of 2:10.02, scoring 13 points for UB.
Jennefer Brankovsky placed first in the 200 m individual medley in 2:10.18. Brankovsky won by just 13-hundreds of a second.
On Saturday, UB dominated Toledo, scoring a 210-88 victory over the Rockets. The Bulls won 14 of the 16 events on the day.
Kahla Walkinshaw won three individual events and was also part the winning 800-freestyle team. She won the 200-butterfly in 2:07.96 and then took the 100 m butterfly with a time of 59.80. She finished the day with a 54.95 second showing to win the 100 m freestyle.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles defeated the UB men's swimming and diving team 135-88 in a matinee on Saturday. The loss drops UB to 3-4 overall and 1-4 in the MAC, while Eastern Michigan improved their 6-3 overall record and MAC leading 3-0 conference record.
Junior Mark Sy swam well in defeat for UB, winning the 200 m butterfly in 1:53.83. Sy was also the first swimmer for Buffalo's winning 400 m freestyle relay team. Matt Lazio, Aaron Moessinger, and James Wood were the other three members of the relay team, which had a time of 3:24.33 to take the event.
Geoff Wells picked up UB's only other victory of the day with a time of 2:10.30 in the 200 m breaststroke.
